MORE INFORMATION

This animated style Anakin Skywalker figure was released in February 2010 in the Clone Wars Deluxe line, packed-in with a Desert Skiff Speeder. Anakin is never seen using this speeder in the animated Clone Wars TV Show, nor is he ever seen wearing that cape and breathing device.

The figure is a repaint of the previously released Anakin Skywalker figure from the 2008/2009 B'omarr Monastery Assault Battlepack. Differences in the paint application are to be found all over the figure, for example Anakin's scar is painted much stronger, the belt buckle and the gauntlets on Anakin's right arm are painted differently as well. The colors are overall darker, especially on the blue soft goods skirt. Hasbro has also fixed Anakin's left glove, which is supposed to be brown, but was painted black on the B'omarr Monastery Anakin. However, both figures lack any kind of dirt, scuffs or battle markings on the boots or armor.

The included hard-plastic cape can be put on and be removed easily by poppin' Anakin's head off. It's a good fit, and still lets the figure move the arms forward to grab the controls of the speeder. The pretty cool looking breathing mask can be put over the Jedi's head, where it stays firmly attached. Unfortunately, the lightsaber keeps falling out of Anakin's right hand, but it does fit nicely into his left. Overall, this Anakin Skywalker figure with Desert Skiff is well done. Granted, if you already own the B'omarr Monastery Anakin figure, or if you don't like Hasbro's imaginary expanded universe, you can pass on this release. However, all of those things aside, what's left is a decent figure, which looks quite cool on display.

Don't forget to use the comparison tool to see what both figures look like side by side!

PACKAGING TEXT

For missions in the harsh desert of Tatooine, Anakin adapts the technology of the local swoop gangs. Desert skiffs are generally used for hauling stolen goods, but these maneuverable, lightly armed speeders are well-suited for undercover missions. Combined with Anakin's skill as a pilot and Podracer, the skiff is an ideal transport for dangerous desert operations.
