This Anakin Skywalker in Cold Weather Gear was released single carded in early 2010 in the basic Clone Wars assortment. Anakin can be seen wearing this cold weather gear in the Ralph McQuarrie inspired episode entitled "Trespass", from the first season of the Clone Wars animated show.
The figure has 12 joints, only lacking articulated ankles. Luckily, the figure's stance is fairly wide, which helps to balance itself better. The included lightsaber fits very well into Skywalker's left hand, but the right hand is unable to hold any weapons. The goggles are easily removable and can be put over the head without problems where they stay nicely attached. The collar is removable, and in order to do so, you'll have to pop Anakin's head off, which is easy to do. Since Anakin was seen with the coat's collar and in a few scenes without, it's great that collectors have the option on how to display the figure. The coat is made out of soft plastic, which means the figure can almost sit. For example, you will be able to fit Anakin into a Freeco Speeder, but he just barely fits in and can't reach the controls very well.
The paint application on Skywalker is pretty straight forward without any weathering, but it's nicely applied overall. The figure's mold is well done, but feels a little bit stiff. Ankle joints would have been nice, but are not necessary. It would have also been nice if Anakin could have been displayed with his hood up, like he was seen in quite a few scenes in that Clone Wars episode. All in all though, this Anakin Skywalker in Cold Weather Gear is pretty well done. It looks very close to the character in the "Trespass" episode, and if you are a fan of that, you might want to add this version of Anakin Skywalker to your collection.
