This concept C-3PO figure was released individually carded, but packed-in together with a concept R2-D2, as part of The Anniversary Collection in 2007. The set was a Celebration IV convention exclusive in the United States. C-3PO is based on concept art created by Ralph McQuarrie for the original Star Wars movie.
C-3PO has a total of 12 joints, lacking articulated knees. Because of that, it might take some time to get the figure to stand on its own without using a stand. There were no accessories packed-in with the figure, and there are no removable parts or other kind of gimmicks on the droid.
The paint application on the McQuarrie C-3PO is well done with a dirty and rusty look to it, but it still feels a little plain and boring. However, Hasbro did captured the aesthetics and the overall look and feel from the McQuarrie paintings very well, and if you are a fan of Ralph McQuarrie (and who isn't?), you won't regret adding this version of C-3PO to your collection.
