This Princess Leia was released in a comic 2-pack during The Anniversary Collection in 2007. The second action figure in the set was Darth Vader. Both figures, Darth Vader and Princess Leia are based on the Dark Horse comic book INFINITIES series for The Empire Strikes Back.
Princess Leia has 14 joints, with ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, knees and ankles. Besides the ball-joints, Hasbro added swivel joints in the elbows, wrists, waist and legs. Leia has no balancing problems and stands securely on her own. The only accessory included was a blue lightsaber, which fits well into both of the figure's hands. The blue lightsaber blade is removable, so that the Princess can be displayed with an either ignited lightsaber, or just holding the hilt itself. The interesting part about the hilt is that it's made out of very soft plastic, which easily bends. We actually had to look up the character in the comic book and check to see if Leia used a Count-Dooku-like lightsaber, because the hilt had a curve to it. Back in 2002 when Hasbro first introduced lightsabers with removable blades in the SAGA collection, many of the blades broke right where they were plugged into the hilt. The soft plastic used here on this lightsaber is very likely the result of that, and Hasbro trying to solve that problem.
The paint application on Leia is average, with cleanly applied colors, but no weathering or dirt on it. The sculpt is decent, with Leia looking a little manly and Samurai-like. Overall, this version of Princess Leia is unique, but a bit on the boring side. If you are into the expanded universe or Dark Horse's Infinities comic book series, you might want to add this figure to your collection.
In this tale, Princess Leia fulfills Luke Skywalker's dying words, "Find master Yoda... Train as a Jedi... Go to Dagobah." On the jungle world of Dagobah, Leia is shocked to learn her father is the evil Darth Vader. Under the tutelage, Leia becomes a skilled Jedi but faces a final trial: battle her father in a lightsaber duel and resist his attempts to turn her to the dark side.
