MORE INFORMATION

  • Astromech Droid R2-C2 was released in an Entertainment Earth exclusive 6-pack in October 2016
  • The entire set included astromech droids of Jabba's Bartender, R7-F5, QT-KT, R7-D4, R2-C2 and R2-A5
  • All the astromech droid molds used for this set are identical, Hasbro used this particular sculpt first for The Vintage Collection R2-D2 #25
  • This version of R2-C2 is a realistic interpretation of the droid which was seen in the Clone Wars cartoon
  • The front panel can be opened and one of the tools can be manually extended
  • Unfortunately, every astromech droid in the set reviewed here on J.B. had issues keeping the panel closed all the way
  • The dome can be rotated 360 degrees (no clicking sound), but the sensorscope needs to be taken out first
  • When the middle leg is pushed into the body, the sensorscope pops out of the dome
  • When the sensorescope is pused into the dome, the middle leg will extend out
  • The drinking dispenser can be plugged into the hole in the top middle of the dome
  • The tray with the yellow glasses sits on top of the legs
  • All seven glasses are removable from the tray
  • The left and right leg each have two wheels in them so that the droid can be moved around
  • A nice detail which is included on all the astromech droids in this set are the cables on the front of the feet (newer Disney Build-A-Droids don't have this detail anymore)
  • R2-C2 stands well on display without any balancing issues
  • The figure was painted nicely without any factory errors or smudges on the droid
  • This astromech droid was painted beautifully and it's the most interesting astromech droid to look at in this set

PACKAGING TEXT

There was no additional information on the box but the Entertainment Earth website had following information: Everything's gonna be all right with R2-C2 and a moon pie. We expect you may find both in the home of Black Sun crime lord Ziro the Hutt. This dapper dispenser of potent portable potables is decorated with Black Sun tattoos in gray, blue, and red. There are no other robots quite like him in the galaxy, plus he includes everything you need to help aliens get their drink on at a snazzy underground party. You'll find him in The Clone Wars movie, but the toy can only be found here.
