This Hoth Rebel Soldier was released individually carded during the The Power Of The Force 2 toy line in 1997. Hoth Rebel Troopers can be seen during the Battle Of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.
The figure has the mid-90ties typical 6 swivel joints in the neck, shoulders, the waist and both legs. Even though the figure was given a wider stance, it stands pretty shaky without a stand. The big blaster rifle is an OK fit for both hands, and the big backpack plugs nicely into a hole in the back of the figure. The headgear and the goggles hanging from the rebel's neck are not removable.
The paint application on the Hoth Rebel Soldier is cleanly applied, but looks overall pretty basic. The mold, with the He-Man-like shoulders and narrow waist is outdated compared with modern figures. All in all, this Hoth Rebel Trooper was good for its time and it'll add some variety to your Hoth Rebels, but there are better alternatives with more details and articulation available today.
The Empire has located the Alliance's secret headquarters on the Ice PLanet Hoth. During the consequent invasion, Rebel Soldiers hold out bravely against an unbeatable ground assault until a retreat salvages their heroic effort.
