MORE INFORMATION

This Magnaguard droid was released individually carded during The Clone Wars collection in Spring 2010. Magnaguard droids are General Grievous' bodyguards, and can be seen in Episode 3, and several Clone Wars TV episodes. The figure is based on the animated appearance of the character.

The droid is super articulated with 14 joints, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, the hip, knees and ankles. The wrists and the waist are swivel jointed. The Magnaguard droid stands very nicely on its own, even when positioned in a more action oriented pose. Hasbro included a removable soft-goods cape, and an electrostaff with two attachable "electro effects" with the figure. The cape looks very nice, with some battle damage holes in the back. It fits very well, and doesn't feel bulky. The electrostaff is a good fit, and the figure has no problems holding it with both hands.

The paint application on the Magnaguard Droid is well done, with an off-white body color, but a very dirty and used look to it. The figure's sculpt is well done, and mimics the animated TV version very well. The droid is very different compared with the previously released Magnaguard Droid, not only in the paint job, but it also has a differently sculpted head, a different looking electrostaff, plus a ball-jointed hip, knee and ankle articulation. All in all, this Magnaguard Droid is a great update to the formerly released version, and it looks pretty cool next to General Grievous.
