This animated-style version of Bounty Hunter Bossk was released in The Rise Of Boba Fett Ultimate Battlepack during The Clone Wars collection in August 2010. The set was a Toys'R'Us exclusive, and besides the spaceships Slave 1 and Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter, it included this Bossk, Anakin Skywalker, young Boba Fett in cadet uniform, Mace Windu and R8-B7. The set is based on the Boba Fett story arch from the end of the second season of the Clone Wars TV show, which concluded with the episodes "Death Trap", "R2 Come Home", and "Lethal Trackdown".
Bossk has 14 points of articulation, including ball-joints in the shoulders, elbows, the waist, knees and ankles. The neck, forearms, and legs were given swivel joints. The figure stands quite securely on its own, thanks to adjustable ankles, and big feet. There were two accessories included with Bossk, his blaster rifle, and a removable cable, which goes from the front of the flight suit into the back. Unfortunately, the figure can't get a good grip on the blaster rifle, and it fits only very loosely into both hands.
The paint application on Clone Wars Bossk is cleanly applied, but feels a little bit plain without any dirt or weathering. Aesthetically, the figure looks great, with very well hidden joints. With the slim and tall look, it comes pretty close to Bossk's appearance in season 2 of the Clone Wars TV show. The only negative (besides the weapon not fitting all to well into the hands) was that when we moved the arms up with very little effort, the ball-joint in the waist unplugged and the entire upper body separated from the figure. All things considered though, this super articulated, animated-style Bossk looks great on display, and fits right in with the rest of the Clone Wars line-up. It's a very nice addition to the animated-style Bounty Hunters!
Ever since the Battle of Geonosis, young Boba Fett has made it his mission to confront the Jedi who defeated his father. Jango's son doesn't care that the duel between his father and Mace Windu was a fair battle between skilled warriors; Boba wants his chance to fight the Jedi. Eventually, his hunt is successful. He and Bossk fly Slave I to a planet where Mace and Anakin Skywalker are on a mission. The moment has come, and Boba is determined to make Windu pay for his actions on Geonosis, and to take his place as the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy.
The Trandoshan bounty hunter teams up with Boba, sensing that the boy will become a powerful ally, or enemy.
