MORE INFORMATION

This animated-style Battle Droid Commander was released individually carded during The Clone Wars collection in August 2010. Battle Droid Commanders can be seen throughout various episodes of the Clone Wars TV show.

The figure has 8 joints, with ball-joints in the neck and shoulders, and swivel joints in both elbows, the waist and legs. The wrists, knees and ankles are not articulated. Due to the Battle Droid's petite nature and soft plastic, it has balancing problems and you want to use the included stand to display it. Since there are no joints in the knees and ankles, you can't put the droid into a "sleeping" position. The backpack plugs well into the back of the droid and stays well attached. The blaster fits very well into the right hand, with the Battle Droid's fingers on the trigger. It's an OK fit for the left hand. The binoculars are an OK fit, and thanks to ball-joints in the shoulders and swivel joints in the elbows, the droid can hold it up to his head. The rocket launcher is also a good fit for either of the droid's hands.

The paint job on the Battle Droid Commander is average, with the yellow Commander markings on the head, chest, arms and back of the droid. There is some silver paint on the chest, arms and the legs, "simulating" scratches and scuffs. Overall, this animated-style Battle Droid Commander is only OK. The look is good, but it's such a petite figure that it doesn't want to stand right. Hopefully Hasbro will release these Battle Droids with better plastic, thicker legs, and articulated knees and ankles sometime in the future. It's a great candidate to army build, but the sculpt isn't quite there yet.

PACKAGING TEXT

Battle droid commanders transmit orders to squads of battle droids. Their advanced programming includes increased independence and enhanced intelligence, which gives them the ability to execute their roles effectively. They have yellow markings to designate them as commanders.
