MORE INFORMATION

This Boba Fett figure was released individually carded during The Vintage Collection in late October/November 2010. The figure is based on Boba Fett's appearance in The Empire Strikes Back.

This version pictured here is the second release. The Vintage Collection Boba Fett figure released only a few months earlier had a slightly different paint application, with the cheek outline on the helmet being dark green instead of black. The boots, shoulders and knees also look different with subtle changes in the color and paint scheme (especially on the boots). Another paint change can be noticed on the blaster rifle, where the first released rifle was given less scratches and a silver tip instead of a black one.

The figure is a re-release and repaint of the TAC Evolution figure from 2008 and the Boba Fett figure from the 2009 Legacy Collection. This time around the paint application on the figure mimics the character from the movie closer with less bright colors. This is especially apparent on the helmet, the shoulder and knee caps.

Boba is super articulated with a total of 14 joints which is enough articulation to pose the Bounty Hunter in almost any position. The figure stands securely without the need for a display stand but it does have the typical peg holes in the bottom of the feet if you'd like to place it on a display stand (not included). The blaster rifle and the blaster fit well into the right and left hand, respectively. The blaster can also be placed into a holster which is located on back of the figure's belt. Boba Fett's helmet is a tight fit which covers the entire head nicely. The range finder on the helmet is not movable. Boba's jet pack can be plugged into a hole on the back of the figure and the soft goods cape hanging over the figure's left shoulder is not removable.

The sculpt of the figure is extremely well done, including Boba Fett's pouches on the belt, scuffs on the armor, and lots of details on both arms. What Hasbro improved upon previous released Boba Fetts is the paint application, which is now even closer to the ESB version than before. Even very small details like Boba's knuckles on both gloves are painted cleanly, or the very small silver buttons on the forearms are spot on. All in all, this Boba Fett figure is fantastic all the way, it's super articulated and very detailed and can be considered the definite version for the ESB outfit as of 2010. If you don't own any of the previous releases, you shouldn't have an excuse to not add this figure to your collection.
