Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was released in a Target exclusive 2-pack in Fall 2010 together with a Super Battle Droid. The set was part of the Geonosis Arena Showdown series, which started in 2009 during The Legacy Collection, and by Fall of 2010 consisted of twelve 2-packs totaling 24 figures. The figure is based on Obi-Wan Kenobi's appearance in the Geonosis arena in Attack Of The Clones.
Obi-Wan uses the exact same mold for the body as the fantastic TLC Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, which was one of our choices for the TOP 10 figures of 2009! This means, the figure is ultra-articulated with ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, the hip, knees and ankles. The only swivel joints on the entire figure are located in both wrists. It's quite easy to adjust the figure's stance with so many ball-joints in the lower body. The joints feel stiff, and you don't get the feeling as if the figure is going to fall over any second. The only accessory included with Kenobi was a blue lightsaber, which fits very well into both of the figure's hands. On the left side of the belt is a hole, where potentially a lightsaber hilt could be hung from, but unfortunately, there wasn't a hilt included with the figure. There was also no jedi robe or commlink included with this release.
The paint application on Obi-Wan is well done and matches the outfit we all remember from the movies. Hasbro even gave the boots very subtle weathering and dirt which is nice and works quite well. The head sculpt is quite different from The Legacy Collection Obi-Wan in that it's thinner and a little smaller. The hair color is also lighter. All in all, this Obi-Wan Kenobi figure based on the Geonosis Arena Battle is very well done, and can easily be recommended.
The Jedi Knights rush to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme from execution. The Jedi brandish their lightsabers against the Geonosian warriors and the massive army of battle droids, super battle droids and droidekas. All hope seems lost that any Jedi will survive this battle, then Yoda arrives with an army of clone troopers. Although many Jedi are lost that day, others survive this climatic battle that ushers in the Clone Wars.
