This generic Clone Trooper was released in a 2005 Walmart exclusive 3-pack, which featured cartoon-style figures of Anakin Skywalker, Saesee Tiin and this Clone Trooper. The set was released to commemorate the DVD release of the Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon series on DVD. These Clone Troopers can be seen in various scenes in the original Clone Wars cartoon.
The figure shares the same mold from the neck down with all the other Tartakovsky cartoon-style Clone Troopers (except for the red ARC Trooper) and Commander Cody. The only difference is the Episode III inspired looking helmet. The Clone has 4 movable parts, including a ball-jointed neck, two swivel arms and a swivel waist. There are no joints in the elbows, wrists, the hip, legs, knees or ankles. Despite the limited pose-ability, the figure stands remarkably well on its on without a stand. The only weapon included was a blaster rifle, which can only be placed in the Clone Trooper's left hand.
The paint application on the Clone Trooper is very basic, with only black, white and gray on the armor. The figure's sculpt matches the look of these troopers in the micro-series, but due to the very limited pose-ability, it's impossible to recreate entire battle scenes with it. Just like all the other Clone Wars figures in this series, the figure is more statue than actual action figure.
Through the creative vision of Lucasfilm Ltd. and the Cartoon Network, the Clone Wars are brought to life in an exciting new series of short animated chapters. A unique animation style captures the drama of this epic period in galactic history along with its outstanding heroes and adversaries. Noble Jedi warriors lead Clone Troopers into battle against the evil Separatist forces and their droid armies. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and their comrades struggle against the rising power of the dark side and confront personal challenges against a backdrop of war-torn planets.
