This Special Ops Clone Trooper was released in a 2-pack during the Clone Wars Collection as a Target exclusive in February/March 2011. The figure was packed-in together with the Geonosian Drone and is based on the Landing At Point Rain story arch from the second season of The Clone Wars.
The Special Ops Clone has 14 points of articulation, including a ball-jointed neck, 2 ball-jointed shoulders, 2 ball-jointed elbows, 2 swivel wrists, a ball-jointed waist, 2 swivel legs, 2 ball-jointed knees and 2 ball-jointed ankles. There are no balancing issues at all, and the figure can hold the only weapon included, a basic blaster, well in both hands. Unfortunately, the Special Ops Clone Troopers were seen in "Landing At Point Rain" wearing backpacks, but there was no backpack included with the figure. There is no face underneath the helmet, and there are no other parts on the armor which can be removed.
The paint application on the Special Ops Clone Trooper is well applied, and the color tone fits well with the previously released Flamethrower Clone Trooper. Unfortunately, there is no dirt or battle damage to be found on the armor. The figure's super articulated sculpt leaves only little to be improved upon, and should please a lot of fans of clone trooper figures.
Clone troopers battle Geonosian drones to stop the production of more battle droids. The special ops clone trooper is a highly skilled marksman. With his DC-15a blaster, he takes aim at the swarms of Geonosian drones that are attacking the republic forces.
