MORE INFORMATION

This Episode 2 Clone Trooper was released individually carded during the Vintage Collection in March 2011. The phase I Clone Trooper was first seen in Attack Of The Clones.

This version of the Clone Trooper is all new, and features 14 points of articulation, with all of the movable parts being ball-jointed. The articulation includes a ball-jointed neck, 2 ball-jointed shoulders, 2 ball-jointed elbows, 2 ball-jointed wrists, a ball-jointed waist, 2 ball-jointed legs, 2 ball-jointed knees and 2 ball-jointed ankles. There are no balancing problems at all, which in part, is due to the new, bigger and longer feet. There were two weapons included with the trooper, a generic blaster and a blaster rifle. Both weapons fit very well into the figure's hands. The helmet is a perfect fit, it covers the head nicely and can easily be put on or taken off.

The paint application on the Clone Trooper is quite simple, but mimics the appearance of these troopers spot-on. There is no dirt or battle wear to be found here. However, Hasbro paid close attention to details, and painted the red light on the back of the helmet's fin, and they also added silver accents to the blaster rifle, plus silver and golden accents onto the blaster. Those are nice details, which collectors certainly appreciate.

Paint application aside, where this figure truly shines is in its fantastic sculpt, which just looks brilliant all the way around. The new and thinner head sculpt looks nice and detailed too (maybe a little bit too small, but nice nonetheless). It's also fantastic that this clone has only ball-jointed articulation. The armor's shoulder bells might be a bit too big, which limits the upper range of the arms a little bit, but that's not too big of a deal. Compared with previous Episode II clones, this trooper here is taller and skinnier, and because of that, it doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the troopers released by Hasbro so far. All in all though, this Clone Trooper is brilliant and a great update to a cool character, and in our opinion a definite must-have-figure!

This very same figure, but with an updated face deco, was released by Hasbro in February of 2020, have a look here: Clone Trooper VC45;
