May 2026 was a huge month for Star Wars action figure collectors, with May The Fourth reveals and pre-orders, a second Hasbro livestream focused mostly on Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu, the theatrical release of the movie, new Droid Factory droids to collect, new additions to our feature section, and several deeper collector-focused reviews covering classic vehicles, playsets and display pieces here on GalacticFigures.com.
Beyond Star Wars action figure collecting, May 2026 was an incredibly busy month for Star Wars as a whole. Star Wars Day on May the 4th kicked things into high gear, Maul: Shadow Lord wrapped up its first season to strong feedback from the GalacticFigures community, and Lucasfilm kept the spotlight on The Mandalorian And Grogu with trailers, reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, Fortnite updates, and finally the movie’s theatrical release. Galaxy’s Edge also saw notable changes, with more attention on original trilogy characters and later-timeline storytelling, along with updates to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Add in a flood of merchandise, from Bath & Body Works items and makeup products to food tie-ins, Burger King collectibles, movie theater cups, popcorn buckets, and more, and May felt like one of the busiest Star Wars months in recent memory.
Below is a recap of the biggest May stories for us Star Wars action figure collectors, with quick links to each section.

May started with Star Wars Day on May 4th, with Hasbro's May The Fourth 2026 livestream, which delivered a broad mix of reveals for The Vintage Collection and The Black Series. The biggest surprise was that the event did not mention The Mandalorian And Grogu movie once and Hasbro showed no figures from the movie which was only weeks away from release. Instead, collectors got announcements from across the Star Wars timeline with a heavy focus on Gaming characters many of us had never heard of.

For The Vintage Collection, the reveal list included the Geonosian Warrior 4-pack, Plo Koon, Luuke Skywalker, Bodhi Rook, Anakin Skywalker in his Sebastian Shaw Force ghost appearance, a Phase I Clone Trooper Commander, and the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusive Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress 2-pack. For 3.75-inch collectors, the Geonosian Warrior 4-pack and Bodhi Rook were especially notable, giving both prequel and Rogue One displays some long-requested support.

The Black Series side brought Commander Doom, Commander Thorn, a clean Clone Commando from Star Wars Battlefront II, Mission Vao and Carth Onasi from Knights Of The Old Republic, Satele Shan and a Republic Trooper from The Old Republic, plus the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusive 501st Legion ARF Trooper and AT-RT set. The Retro Collection also received an update, with the A New Hope 6-pack moving away from the distressed cardback look and toward clean, pristine, unpunched cards, smaller stickers and a redesign back of the card.
Hasbro followed up later in the month with another livestream on May 26 (several days after the Star Wars movie had been released), this time focusing much more directly on The Mandalorian And Grogu. For The Vintage Collection, collectors got another look at Devin Izara, along with Hera Syndulla from season one of Star Wars Rebels, a single-carded Sandtrooper, and new movie-based figures including Embo, the Mercenary Super Battle Droid and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios in his New Republic pilot outfit.
For The Black Series, Hasbro revealed IG-11, a Snowtrooper, Grogu, the Mercenary Guard Droid, Embo and Zeb Orrelios. The larger figures are planned for standard packaging, with several also receiving limited First Edition white-box releases. It was great to finally see more characters from the movie join both scales, although the absence of vehicles and some key movie characters was definitely noticeable for collectors hoping for a deeper rollout. Rotta The Hutt, anyone?
May 22nd marked the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu, bringing Din Djarin and Grogu back after roughly three years since season three of The Mandalorian tv series. For collectors, the movie was more than just a theatrical event; it immediately became the new reference point for upcoming figure wants, display ideas and speculation around what Hasbro might prioritize next.

The month also included a look at the touring Miniso Star Wars pop-up store, which was tied to the movie's promotional push. Between retail displays, pop-up stores and Hasbro's later livestream reveals, May made it clear that The Mandalorian And Grogu was not just a movie release, but a Star Wars merchandising event.
Droid Factory collectors had more to track in May with a new BDX 4-pack, another build-a-droid figure and a new Pride-themed 3.75-inch Droid Factory release. Disney's Droid Factory line continues to be one of the more interesting 3.75-inch lines in 2026 with monthly reveals.

May 2026 was also a strong archive month here on GalacticFigures.com. We added several newer Black Series figures to the database, including the Geonosian Warrior, Taun We, Plo Koon, Clone Commander Wolffe, and the SCAR Squadron CAV and Misty 2-pack.
We also published a Black Series B1 Battle Droid overview, along with a Garazeb Orrelios image for phones, giving collectors a quick visual reference for every character released so far as of May 2026. On the Vintage Collection side, the troop builder overview was updated with the Geonosian Warriors set, which should be helpful for anyone tracking Hasbro's growing number of troop builder sets in the 3.75-inch line.

Outside of current releases, May 2026 gave us a chance to revisit several older Hasbro items. The coverage included the 1999 Episode I Trade Federation Tank, the 2001 Power Of The Jedi Carbon Freezing Chamber, the 1997 Power Of The Force Endor Attack playset, the 1998 Power Of The Force Jabba's Palace 3D Display Diorama, Hasbro's Cloud Car, the 2013 Vintage Collection Biggs Darklighter's Red 3 X-Wing Fighter, and the 2018 Vintage Collection Imperial Combat Assault Tank.

We think these kinds of reviews are always useful because they put older releases back into collector context. Some of these items still hold up surprisingly well, while others are very much products of their time, but all of them help document the long road that led to the modern Star Wars action figure lines collectors are buying today.
