This Anakin Skywalker was released in a Target exclusive 2-pack in Fall 2010 together with a Droideka. The set was part of the Geonosis Arena Showdown series, which started in 2009 during The Legacy Collection, and by Fall of 2010 consisted of twelve 2-packs totaling 24 figures. The figure is based on Anakin Skywalker's appearance in the Geonosis arena in Attack Of The Clones, where he managed to get hold of a green lightsaber.
The figure is a re-release with a new head, and a slight repaint of the Anakin Skywalker figure, which was included in the 2008 TAC evolution 3-pack. This means that Anakin Skywalker has 12 points of articulation, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows and knees. The wrists, the waist and both legs are swivel jointed. The only joints missing in Anakin are ankle joints. Thanks to a good stance though, the figure balances out beautifully on its own without the need for a stand. Even more battle oriented and dynamic poses with the arms above the head are not too big of a problem for the figure. The only weapon included was a green lightsaber, which Skywalker can hold very nicely in both hands, and since the green blade is removable, you can even plug the hilt into the hole in the figure's belt, and have it hang down. The outer black soft-piece of the Jedi tunic is removable.
The paint application on Anakin Skywalker is well executed and the sculpt captures the likeness of Anakin from Episode II quite well. The darker colors on the Jedi tunic look great, and the now improved head and paint application in the facial area really make a difference, in a good way. All in all, this version of Anakin Skywalker turned out very well and can easily be recommended.
The Jedi Knights rush to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme from execution. The Jedi brandish their lightsabers against the Geonosian warriors and the massive army of battle droids, super battle droids and droidekas. All hope seems lost that any Jedi will survive this battle, then Yoda arrives with an army of clone troopers. Although many Jedi are lost that day, others survive this climatic battle that ushers in the Clone Wars.
