  • This 6" Clone Captain Rex was released during Spring 2018
  • The figure is a re-worked version of the Hascon exclusive Clone Captain Rex figure from 2017
  • This time around Hasbro used the Photo Real technology to give Captain Rex a more life-like appearance
  • Have a look at this picture to see both head sculpts side by side
  • The figure also has a slightly different paint application when compared to the Hascon Captain Rex figure, the armor for example has much lighter weathering on it which is most noticable on the figure's thighs
  • Take a look at this comparison picture where both figures stand next to each other
  • This release had less weapons included with it than the Hascon Clone Captain Rex, it only came with two basic blasters (the Hascon version had four blasters included)
  • The figure is a realistic representation of Clone Captain Rex in his phase II armor from the Clone Wars animated TV series
  • The figure's helmet can easily be placed over the head, but it unfortunately leaves a small gap on the bottom so that the chin shows a litle bit
  • Captain Rex can hold both blasters well in his hands
  • The smaller blasters fit well into the holsters
  • The right hand's index finger can be placed onto the weapon's triggers, which looks great
  • The shoulder pauldron is glued down in the back and not removable
  • The belt and the soft-goods karma are not removalbe
  • The target-finder on the helmet can be moved up and down
  • The paint application on the figure was done well overall with lots of subtle dirt on the armor
  • Details such as the kill counts on Captain Rex's legs, arms and the helmet look cool
  • Clone Captain Rex stands well on display without any balancing issues
  • So which one is better, this basic release or the Hascon figure? They both have something going for them, the Hascon Captain Rex comes in cool packaging and lots of weapons, while this release was given the Photo Real treatment with an incredible Temuerra Morrison likeness
  • All in all, both Captain Rex figures are great, including this one reviewed here!

Clone Captain Rex served the Republic during the Clone Wars, often taking orders from Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. He viewed military service as an honor, and he always completed his mission.
