MORE INFORMATION

This IG-86 figure was released in the "Ambush On The Vulture's Claw" battlepack in late August 2009. The IG-86 droids could be seen attacking Anakin and Ahsoka in the Clone Wars episode "Downfall Of A Droid". The figure is a repack of the previously single-carded released animated IG-86 figure. This time however the figure and the accessories have a different paint job.

When compared to the previously single-carded released IG-86 figure, you'll notice that Hasbro repainted the backpack from gray to black and kept the droid's body mainly clean without any scratches or battle damage. You'll still find some "rusty" looking joints which is nice, but the droid is kept mainly clean. This is a welcome choice as it gives you some variety in your set-up if you already own the previous version.

With 16 joints, IG-86 is super articulated, including ball-jointed legs, which makes it easy to adjust the figure's stance. Both droid blasters fit well into the figure's hands and the backpack attaches firmly on the back of the droid. Both of the blasters can be attached to the backpack, which enables the droid to engage in other activities without having to hold a blaster in a hand.

All in all, it's a great IG-86 figure, with great character likeness, super articulation, two blasters and a backpack. And, the paint job is different enough from the previously released IG-86 figure, that you might want to pick this one up.
