MORE INFORMATION

This Battle Damaged Darth Vader was released single carded in early 2008 as part of the 30th Anniversary Collection's basic assortment. Darth Vader can be seen battle damaged at the end of the first The Force Unleashed video game.

The figure is well articulated with 14 joints, including ball-joints in both shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. There are swivel joints in the neck, forearms, waist and legs. There were 5 accessories included with the figure, one red lightsaber, and 4 snap-on armor pieces. Vader's lightsaber fits nicely into either of his hands. The snap-on pieces are a surprisingly good fit, especially the helmet piece fits dead on without any problems and covers the entire head with no skin showing through underneath. The chest armor part fits also very well, but the armor pieces on the left arm and the left shin sit quite loosely. The figure has no balancing problems, but it does have the typical peg holes in both feet if you prefer to use a stand.

The paint application on the Battle Damaged Darth Vader is cleanly applied. The shiny black suit looks nice, and the flesh and metal parts looking through here and there are painted very well. The mold is absolutely fantastic with lots of details, like Vader's cables hanging out from the belt boxes, Anakin's scarred head underneath the helmet or the metal arm and foot look great! The non-removable soft-goods cape was also given the battle damaged and burnt look with lots of holes in it. All things considered, this Darth Vader figure is amongst the best released as of 2010. Not only does it look great, but the accessories all fit well, there are no balancing problems, and the attention to detail is executed very well. If you like The Force Unleashed storyline, you won't regret adding this Darth Vader figure to your line-up!
