MORE INFORMATION

This Han Solo in Hoth Gear was released individually carded during the The Power Of The Force 2 toy line in 1996. The figure is based on Han Solo's appearance on the ice planet Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.

The figure has the POTF2 typical 6 movable parts, with swivel joints in the neck, shoulders, waist and both legs. The figure stands shaky on its own, but Kenner added peg holes in both feet so the figure can be placed on a stand. The bulky looking blaster and blaster rifle fit OK in both of the figures hands. The head gear and the goggles are not removable.

The paint job on Han Solo in Hoth Gear is pretty simple, but cleanly applied. The figure's mold is outdated, with a Schwarzenegger-like physic, lack of joints, bulky weapons and a face sculpt that doesn't look like Harrison Ford. All in all, this Han Solo figure was great in the early days when the line was rebooted by Kenner, but there are much better options of Hoth Gear Han Solo figures available today.

PACKAGING TEXT

The newly commissioned "Captain" Solo worked with his friend, Luke Skywalker, and others to scout the barren planet for life-forms. Riding the smelly, two-legged TaunTauns, Han wore bundled, thermal clothing and protective gear to brave the harsh, icy winds. When Luke failed to return from a scouting mission, Han braved the elements at dusk, facing a high possibility of death. Although he lost his own TaunTaun, Han did find Luke. Erecting an emergency shelter, Han managed to save both of their lives until Rebel search teams could find them the next morning.
