MORE INFORMATION

This Bounty Hunter Dengar action figure was released individually carded during The Power Of The Force 2 Collection in 1997. The figure is based on Dengar's backpack-less appearance in Return Of The Jedi, inside of Jabba's palace.

Dengar has the typical mid-90ties six swivel joints in the neck, both arms and legs, and the waist. There are no joints in the elbows, wrists, knees or ankles. Kenner included two weapons with the figure, a basic blaster and a blaster rifle. Both weapons fit well into the over-sized hands, but they are both just generic weapons, and don't resemble any likeness to what Dengar carried in the movie. Dengar was given a more action oriented pose, with the right leg sculpted in a more forward position. The stance works quite well, and balances the figure out nicely. There was no backpack included with the Bounty Hunter, as seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

The paint application on Dengar feels pretty outdated, but for its time back then it was well done with various shades of dirt on the outfit. The sculpt, just like the paint application, is also outdated. Especially the hands feel out of place due to their size. All in all, this Bounty Hunter Dengar figure is quite outdated compared with modern figures, but it is the only representation of the character based on Return Of The Jedi, where Dengar didn't wear his backpack, and the figure still fits well into a Jabba Diorama.
