A Closer Look At The First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle

Disney released the 3 3/4" Star Wars action figure compatible First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle on December 5th, 2019 when the Rise Of The Resitance attraction opened inside Galaxy's Edge at Disney World, Fl. The vehicle cost $74.99 and came with one of four exclusive 3 3/4" R5 astromech droids.
When Covid-19 shut the Disney Parks down many of the exclusive Galaxy's Edge items found its way onto the official ShopDisney.com website, including the First Order Short-range Evacuation vehicle. This was great news as this gave fans the opportunity to add this vehicle to the collection at regular retail price.
Packaging And Assembly
There is no assembly required, simply open the box and take the First Order Short-Range Evacuation vehicle out. There are no stickers which need to be applied, there is no instruction sheet and the three AAA batteries for the electronics are pre-installed already. The window box shows you the vehicle from the side and a hole in the window allows you to test the buttons and listen to the electronics.

The First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle has four buttons on the hull. The first button triggers the alarm and activates the red LEDs on the inside. The second button plays astromech droid sounds, it can be pressed three times before it starts repeating the beeps and whistles again. The third button plays launching sounds and lights up the blue engine lights while the fourth button plays fly-by sound effects and activates the engine lights as well. The top image shows how the Fleet Transport can be stored inside the vehicle. The bottom two images show the red interior lights and the blue engine lights on the back.
The smaller Fleet Transport vehicle has room for five figures, four in the back and one droid in the front (the Disney ride has room for 8 people and 1 droid). There are no removable parts or hidden panels on the vehicle but there are small wheels in the bottom so that it can be rolled around. The doors are unfortunately static and can't be opened.
The Fleet Transport has room for five figures, 4 regular 3 3/4" figures and 1 3 3/4" astromech droid.
The included astromech droid uses Disney's build-a-droid sculpt, the dome, the 3 legs and the body an be taken apart. The dome has a hole in it where an accessory can be plugged in, unfortunately no accessories which would work with the droid were included here.

Summary
The $74.99 price tag aside, this vehicle turned out nicely and captures the look of the ride vehicle and the evacuation pod very well. The inclusion of lights and sounds from the actual Disney attraction make this a nice souvenir to have in the collection. Currently Hasbro isn't releasing a lot of vehicles for 3 3/4" figures anymore so it's nice to see that Disney steps up every once in a while and comes out without something for 3 3/4" fans.
