• R2-D2 is a repaint of the ROTS R2-D2 from the year 2005 - with some slight modifications made to it
• Modifications compared to the 2005 release are: new electronic beeps and whistles - new back panel without a screw so the battery can't be replaced - new dirty paint application
• The sounds are triggered by pressing the button on the front of the droid - it also lights up R2's eye
• The dome can't be rotated due to the electronics inside the dome
• The middle leg is not removable
• The paint application on the droid and the weathering looks great
• The sounds come out of the hole in the top of the dome

R2-D2 is one of the droids aboard Queen Amidala's Royal Starship. The plucky astromech droid saves the day when the Queen is forced to flee Naboo after the Trade Federation invades the peaceful homeworld. The Queen's ship is damaged during the escape, and R2-D2 successfully repairs the vessel so that it can complete its getaway.
