This R2-D2 action figure is based on the scene where he delivers the holographic message from Princess Leia to Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. R2 has a permanent attached restraining bolt, his middle leg moves in and out of his body, and all three legs have swivel joints at the ankles. The astromech has a nice, dirty looking paint application on his lower body simulating the Tatooine sand. R2-D2's dome rotates (making the famous clicking sound) and it has a blue see-through plastic piece at the top, so when light shines on it it'll illuminate his "front eye" and his "projector" where the hologram came out of. The figure looks quite nice overall, it stands securely, and is among one of the better released R2-D2 action figures so far.

While repairing his new droid R2-D2, young Luke Skywalker unwittingly short circuits its recording system, causing a holographic image of the young Princess Leia to appear. She implores the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and then disappears as quickly as she emerged.
