MORE INFORMATION

  • R2-D2 (Dagobah) was released individually carded
  • The droid has electronics built-in
  • From the packaging: Two-stage button! Press briefly for robotic chatter and light
  • Press and hold button for robotic "scream" and light
  • In addition to the sounds R2-D2's front eye lights up
  • Unfortunately - when this droid was added to the archive the battery was already dead (almost 10 years after the figure's release)
  • Luckily though - Hasbro made the battery compartment accessible - and it's easy to exchange the battery if you have a screwdriver
  • R2-D2 doesn't have a middle leg
  • The dome can't be rotated because of the electronics inside
  • The paint application on R2-D2 is outstandingly well done!
  • There are no wheels in the feet
  • Artoo stands nicely on its own without needing help from the included (and fantastic looking) display stand

PACKAGING TEXT

The brave droid R2-D2 has helped the Rebel heroes many times. He goes with Luke Skywalker to the planet Dagobah, where Yoda teaches Luke the ways of a Jedi Knight. Luke tries out his new skills by lifting R2-D2 into the air using only his mind, causing the droid to scream in surprise. When Luke leaves to save his friends from the evil Empire, R2-D2 goes with him, ready to help the Rebels once again.
