Sith Lord Count Dooku was released in a Target exclusive 2-pack in 2010 together with Jedi Knight Nicanas Tassu. The set was part of the Geonosis Arena Showdown series, which started in 2009 during The Legacy Collection, and by Fall of 2010 consisted of twelve 2-packs totaling 24 figures. The figure is based on Count Dooku's appearance in the Geonosian arena, where he could be seen standing on the balcony, overlooking the battle ground.
Count Dooku is a re-release of the 30th Anniversary Collection (TAC) Count Dooku figure from 2008 with a different, more friendly looking head sculpt. Dooku is super articulated with 14 joints, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. The wrists, the waist and both legs have swivel joints. Count Dooku stands nicely by himself and won't need help from a stand. He even keeps the balance quite well with the lightsaber raised above the head. The lightsaber, with a non-removable red blade, is a good fit for both hands. The removable soft-goods cape looks fantastic, and feels heavier and much thicker than some of the jedi and sith robes we are used to. It hangs down a little loose, but is an overall good fit.
Count Dooku was given a nice paint application. There is nothing out of the ordinary about it, but the color tones work very well. The figure's sculpt is superb, and especially the head sculpt captures the likeness of Count Dooku very well. The joints feel stiff and the soft-goods skirt and cape look great. All in all, this Count Dooku figure turned out very nicely!
The Jedi Knights rush to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme from execution. The Jedi brandish their lightsabers against the Geonosian warriors and the massive army of battle droids, super battle droids and droidekas. All hope seems lost that any Jedi will survive this battle, then Yoda arrives with an army of clone troopers. Although many Jedi are lost that day, others survive this climatic battle that ushers in the Clone Wars.
