June 2026 was a busy month here on GalacticFigures.com, with new figure reveals, pre-order alerts, archive updates, Droid Factory news, Father’s Day coverage, a handful of new A Closer Look articles and one of the biggest website updates we’ve rolled out in a while.
June also made one thing pretty clear: from a collecting standpoint, The Mandalorian And Grogu movie is dead in Hasbro's eyes. They are giving Black Series collectors a few additional figures from the film, but overall it feels like the line based on the first Star Wars movie in seven years has been moved to the side rather quickly. That is a shame, because the movie introduced a great variety of interesting characters and designs which could make for some fantastic action figures. And honestly, not having Rotta The Hutt announced (who's the central character to the main story), or already somewhere in the line-up, is yet another baffling choice from the Hasbro Star Wars team.

June was also the month where Hasbro took a break from livestreams and instead rolled out Star Wars reveals through weekly social media announcements. Between Black Series "Droids" figures, Vintage Collection troop builders, Droid Factory updates, Retro Collection pre-orders, new database additions and a look back at some older vehicles in our "A Closer Look" series, it was a busy month. Plus we launched new features here on the website, so there was plenty to keep up with!
Below is a recap of the biggest June stories for us Star Wars action figure collectors, with quick links to each section.
Instead of holding a traditional livestream in June, Hasbro rolled out several Star Wars action figure announcements through social media. The month started with a colorful Black Series throwback to the 1985 Star Wars: Droids - The Adventures Of R2-D2 And C-3PO cartoon, with C-3PO, R2-D2, Boba Fett and a Stormtrooper all revealed in animated-inspired deco.

The Vintage Collection also had a notable month with the Walmart-exclusive Anakin Skywalker and Clone Commander Cody two-pack from Revenge Of The Sith. The set caused quite a bit of stir in the community because the execution is clumsy at best, pairing Commander Cody with Anakin makes no sense since Cody traveld with Obi-Wan to Utapau. Then Anakin Skywalker is named Anakin Skywalker on the packaging when technically at this point in the story (based on the image shown on the card), he had already been christened Darth Vader by Palpatine. Add to that a whopping price increase of $10 to $49.99 from previous sets, it caused the community to rally against it so that in the end Walmart dropped the price. Then we also have a Commander Cody figure in this set which is missing the Palpatine hologram, Kenobi's lightsaber and an actual portrait so that the helmet could be taken off. We don't see a lot of clones taking their helmets off in the movies, so this would have been the one who needed to have a proper human portrait. With so few releases for 3 3/4" collectors nowadays it's more important than ever for Hasbro to get these right.

The Retro Collection received a pre-order update for the A New Hope six-pack, which includes Garindan, R4-M9, Captain Antilles, Princess Leia Organa in her Yavin Ceremony outfit, Wedge Antilles and CZ-3. That assortment is exactly where the Retro Collection format works well, giving collectors more background characters and scene-building options from the original Star Wars movie which Kenner never made back in the 70s and 80s.

Father’s Day brought another round of Black Series reveals, including the ARC Trooper Battle Pack with Clone Commander Blitz, Clone Commander Colt and Clone Commander Havoc, along with a Jaina Solo and Jacen Solo two-pack for Expanded Universe and Legends collectors. Hasbro also announced two new Vintage Collection troop-builder sets tied to the Battle of Geonosis: a Phase I Clone Trooper four-pack and a Super Battle Droid/Battle Droid four-pack.
Late in the month, the Black Series Jedi Temple Guard two-pack surfaced through Hasbro Pulse in the UK without a broader official announcement at the time. The set includes two Jedi Temple Guards and is expected to be connected to Disney Parks and DisneyStore.com availability in the United States.
The Mandalorian And Grogu continued to be part of the June conversation, but not in the way many collectors probably hoped. After the movie hit theaters in May, June felt surprisingly quiet for a film that had such a deep bench of potential action figure candidates. Hasbro is still giving collectors a few figures from the movie, but the overall push feels thin considering how many interesting characters, creatures, aliens and droids could have been pulled from it.

Here on GalacticFigures.com, we updated the Black Series First Editions overview with the newest additions, including IG-11 as Nevarro Marshal, the Snowtrooper, Garazeb Orrelios, Embo and the Mercenary Guard Droid. We also archived Garazeb Orrelios in both The Black Series and The Vintage Collection, along with the Black Series Grogu figure from the movie.

Disney’s Droid Factory line stayed active in June. B2-EMO became available through DisneyStore.com, giving collectors another modern Star Wars droid connected to Andor with a different paint application on the body, plus it included the last part to build protocol droid TC-322 (also archived now on GF). The biggest Droid Factory development of the month was confirmation that Disney’s single-carded Build-A-Droid program will continue with Series 2 throughout the rest of 2026. This was not just a vague tease; DisneyStore.com posted an image of the next droid, a repainted 3 3/4-inch Chopper in his mining facility disguise. The figure is scheduled to go on sale at DisneyStore.com for July 3, 2026 at 8 AM Pacific Time.
June was also a strong archive month here on GalacticFigures.com. In addition to the The Mandalorian And Grogu additions, we added the Amazon-exclusive Black Series two-pack with Darth Traya and Darth Nihilus, VC397 Baze Malbus, TVC Zeb in his New Republic Pilot outfit, and two new Black Series figures from Maul: Shadow Lord: Devon Izara and Rook Kast.
Those updates covered several different corners of Star Wars collecting, from gaming-inspired characters and Rogue One to newer animated storytelling. The Darth Traya and Darth Nihilus two-pack was especially notable for collectors who follow the Knights of the Old Republic era, while Baze Malbus added another important Rogue One character to the modern Vintage Collection line-up (finally).
We also published a high-res overview graphic of Black Series 6-inch Galaxy’s Edge sets which have been available through Disney Parks and DisneyStore.com over the years. Those releases can be tricky to track because they have appeared through different Disney channels, multi-packs and availability windows, so the overview is meant to make that corner of The Black Series easier to follow.
The biggest GalacticFigures.com update in June was the roll-out of several new website features. Readers can now comment on figure entries, add figures to a wishlist and rate their favorite or least favorite figures. These features are completely free to use, and sign-in works through Google, which means GalacticFigures.com does not store or handle user passwords.
There is also a member-exclusive section inside the Figure Hub where we will be posting overview images for personal use on phones, desktops or as collecting reference images. This is a big step toward making GalacticFigures.com more interactive and more useful as a collector hub, not just an informational website. More features are planned for the future, but comments, wishlists, ratings and member-exclusive overview images already make the site feel more useful for all of you, hope you guys agree!
Outside of current releases, June gave us a chance to revisit several older Hasbro items through the featured section with some "A Closer Look" articles. The coverage included the 30th Anniversary Collection Hailfire Droid, the Vintage Collection Rebel Armored Snowspeeder, the Power Of The Force TIE Fighter, the Power Of The Force Detention Block Rescue set, Han Solo’s Landspeeder from Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the Episode I Ammo Wagon And Falumpaset. We also had the opportunity to look at Blokees Star Wars model kits, which were fun to put together at an amazingly great price.

These kinds of articles are always fun because they put older releases back into collector context. Some still hold up surprisingly well, while others are very much products of their time, but all of them help document the long road that led to the modern Star Wars action figure lines collectors are buying today.

June also included a look back at Star Wars action figure print ads from the late 1990s through the early 2010s. Before livestream reveals, social media previews and online pre-order pages became the norm, collectors often discovered upcoming Hasbro Star Wars toys through magazines, comic books and printed ads. We also covered Blokees’ Star Wars Champion Class model kits and marked Father’s Day with a look back at Hasbro’s 2007 Walmart-exclusive Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader Father’s Day two-pack.
June 2026 was another busy month overall, let's see what July brings with San Diego Comic Con towards the back-end of the month!
