- This R2-D2 was released as a mail-away exclusive in the "Early Bird Kit"
- The set contained three other figures - which were Princess Leia - Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca
- The 4-pack could be obtained by purchasing the Early Bird Certificate Package at Walmart - and then mailing away for the figures by filling out a form and including the package UPC and the original register receipt
- The figure has a dome which makes a clicking sound once it's rotated
- The sensor scope in the dome moves in and out of the droid when the dome is rotated
- All three legs have little wheels in them
- The middle leg can be removed so R2 can stand on two legs only
- There are no hidden or removable panels on the droid
